Tranexamic Acid

1. Tranexamic acid is mainly used for various bleeding caused by hyperfibrinolysis.

2. It is suitable for organ trauma or surgical bleeding rich in plasminogen activators, such as the prostate, urethra, lung, brain, uterus, adrenal gland, and thyroid gland.

3. Used as an antagonist of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), streptokinase and urokinase excessive bleeding.

4. It is suitable for induced abortion, premature separation of placenta (placental abruption), intrauterine fetal death (stillbirth) and fibrinolytic bleeding caused by amniotic fluid embolism, and menorrhagia with pathological local fibrinolytic increase in the uterine cavity.

5. For mild hemorrhage of the central nervous system (such as subarachnoid hemorrhage and intracranial aneurysm hemorrhage), the application of tranexamic acid is better than other antifibrinolytic drugs, but there is a risk of concurrent cerebral edema or cerebral infarction. For severe patients with surgical indications, tranexamic acid is only used as an adjuvant drug.

6. For the treatment of hereditary angioneurotic edema, which can reduce its attack frequency and severity.

7. Patients with hemophilia who have active bleeding can be treated with tranexamic acid in combination.

8. It is used to prevent or reduce bleeding after oral surgery in hemophilia patients with coagulation factor VIII or coagulation factor IX deficiency.

9. Treatment of severe bleeding caused by excessive thrombolysis.
